About the Course

Bryan House was built in 1924 to serve as home to the president of Indiana University. Since that time, the... See more home has served eight presidents, each of whom has put their own stamp on the original. Following a renovation, the home reopened in 2017 with a renewed purpose to serve as a premier space for hosting important occasions and distinguished visitors to Indiana University. The ground level now serves as a showcase for treasures from IU’s many collections and as a historical resource for the IU community. This course, held at the Bryan House and hosted by First Lady Laurie Burns McRobbie with discussion led by Katie Chattin, will allow attendees a closer look at the historic house that has served as a backdrop to many important events in university history, as well as the artwork and antiques that make this house a home.
