Instructor: Judith A. Allen, the Walter Professor of History, is Associate Editor of the Journal of American History and Senior Research Fellow at the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction. She has been studying gender, sexuality and feminism since her undergraduate days at the University of Sydney in Australia. She joined Indiana University in 1993, after serving as her country’s foundation Chair of Women’s Studies, to build the Department of Gender Studies, inaugurated in 2002. In addition to many journal articles and edited anthology chapters, her books include Rose Scott: Vision and Revision in Feminism, 1880-1925 (Oxford University Press) and The Feminism of Charlotte Perkins Gilman: Sexualities, Histories, Progressivism (University of Chicago Press).
